Strip Down – Poems of modern life
Medical progress blasting us ahead… technological progress leaving us behind… politics setting us against each other without providing coherent answers… It’s hard to know if this the start of a new and exciting era or the end of the world. But probably it’s just business as usual for humans.
The “Potcake Chapbook” series is named for the dogs of the Bahamas and the Caribbean – strays that live off the burnt scrapings of cooking pots. The poems in the series are a mixed bunch – but the potcake of our logo wears a bow tie to show that he and all the poems are formal. These poems are memorable in part because they rhyme and scan, as all truly memorable poetry does. We subscribe to the use of form, no matter how formless the times in which we live.

One Small Step – Flash fiction inspired by the first Moon Walk
On the 20th July 1969 Neil Armstrong, one of the three members of the Apollo II crew, uttered those famous words as he was the first human being to step and then walk on the Moon. A global televised event, the first Moon Walk not only evokes a nostalgia for an as yet unrealised future of the Space Age, but also a discomfort around the language of colonisation and conquest, inspiring the Museum of Walking to run the One Small Step Creative Writing Walkshop, held on the 20th July 2019 and to hold the One Small Step Flash Writing Competition.

Museum of Walking).
