Since 2011, Alban Low has been the creative force at Sampson Low, publishing over 250 books, pamphlets and maps in that time. Alongside his brothers, Sampson, Joshua and Jacob (who are all great-great-great-great grandsons of Sampson Low), they have established Sampson Low as a valuable force for creativity in both the art and poetry worlds.

It’s time for Alban to take a step back from day to day operations here at Sampson Low. He’ll still be involved in publications that use his skills as an artist and designer but for now he’s handing over to the next generation. There will be a new website, fit for purpose in a rapidly evolving online market, and new ideas from the young Lows who are ready to take over the press.

“I’m incredibly proud of the work I’ve done with creative communities across the globe and all the artists and writers who have made Sampson Low such a unique experience over the past 15 years. Thank you to all of you. Even though we have a long and distinguished history, our recent publication have been fresher than ever, exciting, innovative and sometimes unconventional. I’m going to continue working with SJ Fowler and the students at Kingston University, a collaboration that has given many young poets the opportunity to publish for the first time. It’s a project close to my heart, so new and full of surprises.”

This website will list new publications for a while longer but older releases will not be for sale. As soon as the next generation of Lows start new listings we will point you in the right direction.
